Our client is seeking a proficient Building Surveyor to join its team in the Channel Islands. This role encompasses a diverse range of building surveying functions within a commercial environment, focusing primarily on areas such as Dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence, Defect Diagnosis, Project Management, and Contract Administration, particularly in office buildings. The successful candidate will be self-sufficient but will benefit from the support of the broader Building & Project Consultancy team. This position will be based in either Guernsey or Jersey, requiring occasional off-site client engagements, inspections, and site visits. The role also entails collaboration with colleagues across the Channel Islands and may involve travel between islands. The ideal applicant will represent the client's values, ensuring exemplary client service while fostering strong relationships with both colleagues and clients.
Job Duties:
- Provide advice and reports on commercial premises, managing the delivery of fit out and refurbishment projects.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing the client's teams and values.
- Ensure exceptional client service, focusing on client needs and expectations.
- Support colleagues in building surveying and project management services, stepping in during periods of absence.
- Attend industry events to build professional networks and enhance the client's profile.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients to identify further opportunities and instructions.
- Operate independently while maintaining communication with the wider team and senior directors.
- Participate actively in team meetings, delivering actions and initiatives to achieve business goals.
- Collaborate on business development opportunities across the client's group.
Job Requirements:
- A vocational degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or equivalent.
- MRICS qualification attained or in progress.
- Alternative qualifications in project management, engineering, design, or cost management will also be considered.
- Proven track record of delivering property advice and successful projects in the Channel Islands.
- Ability to create and implement complex strategies and solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Consistent attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple instructions effectively.
- Strong commercial awareness with capabilities in financial management.
- A self-starter with a positive outlook who embraces challenges and seeks excellence.
