Our client is seeking an Associate in Compliance, Independence, and Ethics to join their team in Jersey or Guernsey. This role is part of the Business Enablement - Ethics and Compliance Pillar, with contracted hours of 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will work alongside the Compliance, Independence and Ethics leadership team to support the delivery of various compliance activities and projects. The associate will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to compliance standards, as well as promoting a strong ethical culture that aligns with the firm's purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems. The firm is committed to maintaining high standards of ethical behaviour, which requires proactive management of independence, ethics, and compliance policies. Collaborating with other teams within the organisation will allow the associate to broaden their experience and have a significant impact across different areas. The role provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with close supervision and guidance from experienced managers and team leaders.
Job Duties
- Perform various processes and operate controls within the team.
- Review and organise documentation, notices, and communications from the business, regulators, and the network.
- Support with annual reviews and updates to policies and procedures.
- Monitor mailboxes and forward items to the appropriate colleagues.
- Allocate and track mandatory compliance tasks for new joiners.
- Maintain and update records and registers, such as systems access and breaches logs.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to build knowledge and skills.
- Provide general administrative support to the risk, compliance, and ethics teams as required.
- Conduct compliance monitoring tests and prepare reports on the results.
- Contribute to process enhancements to drive operational efficiency and excellence.
- Work collaboratively with remote teams and colleagues in other territories.
Job Requirements
- A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, ICAEW) would be beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and work to deadlines.
- A tech-savvy mindset, willing to explore and master internal systems.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and driven by challenge.
