Role: Senior Ecologist Contract Length: Until 02/04/2027 Location: York, Leeds, Newcastle or Doncaster – 3 days onsite however there will be travel so this will be counted as days onsite Pay Rate to Candidate: £385 PER DAY – umbrella rate Role: A senior ecologist is required to survey ecosystems and assess the diversity, profusion and behaviours of the different organisms within them. * Conduct field studies, collecting biological information * Carry out taxonomy, classifications of organisms, applying sampling strategies and employing a range of habitat survey techniques * Using specialist software programs, aerial photography and maps to assess environmental impact; analysing the data. * Working on habitat management and creation, writing reports and issuing recommendations * Liaising with and advising, site managers, engineers, planners and others associated with a survey building relationships with stakeholders * Keeping up to date with new environmental policies and legislation, contributing ideas about changes based on ecological findings. Requirements: * Full/associate/graduate membership of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) (depending on experience/or working towards * GREEN SKILLS/ SUSTAINABILITY| - Sustainability Management * Able to work across Senior management and front line staff * Confident and adaptable * Able to cover a wide breadth of topics within the field * Able to collaborate and influence successfully * Full, clean UK driving licence
