Our client is an approved UK manufacturer of commercial ware washing machines for use in the hospitality and related sectors, established over 48 years. It offers a wide range of glasswasher and dishwasher products designed and developed by their dedicated team in Stafford.

The company has created a new role within product development to focus deeper on the machines’ operational performance and energy use. The first task is to baseline the current machine cleaning performance and be able to set realistic targets and goals for future product developments.

The successful candidate will be passionate about the science behind products and have experience of working in a laboratory environment using a range of analytical equipment to monitor temperatures, water quality, chemical concentrations and visual cleaning performance. An ability to review international standards will be required and to have an ability to create practical test methods and robust data collection. You will be responsible for your own projects and be able to put your skills to work on some of the toughest challenges within product development.

A solid understanding of basic chemistry and scientific principles is vital along with good project management skills and a proven track record of delivering improvements within your previous roles. A small practical laboratory facility and supporting test equipment is being set up and it will need to be established and maintained as part of this role.
