Our client is a global leader in the development and manufacture of a range of seals and gaskets used in sectors including oil & gas, chemicals, food, water and pharmaceuticals.
In this position you will play a key role in the physical and mechanical testing of sealing materials (compression testing, leakage testing etc) including R&D trials, competitor testing and troubleshooting, primarily using automated test equipment as well as traditional standard tests to ASTM, BS, DIN standards.
You will also need to set up the various machines and carry out any fault-finding as required.
There is a very strong focus on the use of MS Excel and carrying out data analysis and communication of the results within the R&D Team.
Educated to at least ‘A’ level standard (or equivalent) ideally in maths, physics or mechanical engineering, or with equivalent industrial experience.
Some experience in an engineering or instrumentation test laboratory environment would be advantageous.
Proficient with MS Excel as data handling and data analysis is a key part of the role.
Hands-on mechanical skills, particularly with complex test equipment.
Able to work on own initiative and without constant supervision but also works well as part of a team.
