About The Role

At Zoox we have set the goal to provide our customers with the highest level of safety while using our fully autonomous vehicles. You will work with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds such as vehicle engineering, software and robotics, to deliver the key vehicle CAE performance targets. Working closely with vehicle engineering and vehicle integration attribute teams to provide technical direction on specific CAE attribute deliverables. You'll support the CAE manager by taking ownership of the virtual vehicle and systems attribute status, developing virtual reporting plans, enabling close working collaboration between the attribute managers and CAE attribute leads to align on program status and issue escalation. You will be an integral part of the CAE team working cross functionally within CAE and engineering teams to successfully develop and deliver a high quality product to market. In This Role, You will:

  • Own the CAE program management and reporting for Operational Strength, NVH, Safety, and Veh Dyn virtual status at weekly and project milestone gateways.
  • Support the CAE team members in creating and maintaining the CAE attribute's development plans aligned with high level program milestones, identifying needed resources, key deliverables, and status reporting timeline.
  • Track status performance and mass gaps to target across the CAE attributes through status reporting.
  • Highlight product design/performance maturity throughout the virtual series development phases, work with CAE and engineering teams to ensure performance targets are robustly met.
  • Support cross-functional CAE work streams to close out performance gaps to specific targets.
  • Align CAE status with attribute leads and the manager, and elevate critical issues as appropriate.
  • Balance CAE attribute delivery against competing requirements, including cost, mass, safety, and timing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and or Masters degree with at least 15+ years hands on experience in automotive CAE development in the specific requested areas.
  • Prior team management and leadership experience, able to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong background in CAE, specifically LS-Dyna, Opti-struct, fatigue, and vehicle dynamics.
  • Knowledge of CAE Software, Oasys, Altair, BetaCAE, and ADAMs.
  • Experience in Smartsheet and Jira preferred.

Β£122,000 - Β£146,000 a year Base Salary Range. There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position. Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
