Job Description Position: Senior Design Manager – Natural Resources team (Kier Non-Renewable Natural Networks).

Location: Working from home and site/offices as and when required, primarily at Wisley site in Surrey, Thames Valley.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time. Flexible and part-time hours may be available upon request.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design phase of construction projects on wastewater treatment upgrades and resilience works, including sewage treatment assets under the Waste Asset Assurance Programme.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and design consultants to develop comprehensive design solutions.
  • Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and project documentation, ensuring adherence to design standards, building codes, and client requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective design management processes and procedures.
  • Monitor design progress, identify potential issues or risks, and manage design change control and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role in the civils/construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
  • Transferable skills and willingness to develop in areas where experience may be less extensive.
