We are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Kier Design team based in Nottinghamshire.
Location: Nottinghamshire – hybrid working available, but with at least weekly attendance at the office required along with attendance at site meetings and meetings with clients and other key stakeholders as necessary to suit workload demands.
Hours: Full-time – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
What will you be responsible for?
- Conducting surveys of existing buildings and preparing detailed condition reports, advising on repair, maintenance, improvement or development opportunities.
- Designing and specifying refurbishment, remodelling, restoration and extension works for a variety of building types.
- Managing contracts and supporting procurement processes for building projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Project managing the delivery of building surveying services, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring commissions are completed on time and within budget.
- Contributing to business development through identifying new opportunities, preparing fee proposals and supporting tender responses.
What are we looking for?
- Hold at least an HNC/HND qualification relevant to building surveying (a degree level or RICS accredited qualification preferred, along with chartered status through either RICS or CIOB).
- Broad experience as a building surveying practitioner across different building types and sectors.
- Confidence with contract administration, particularly using JCT and NEC forms, and strong project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office, NBS Chorus and AutoCAD, with strong problem‑solving abilities and a positive "can do" approach.
