We're looking for a General Operative to join our Transportation team based in Picketts Lock.

Location: Picketts Lock, London, N9 0AT

Contract: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:30)

Salary: £32,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. Join our highways maintenance team at Kier, where you'll be part of our joint venture with Tarmac on the Barnet contract. In this rewarding role, you'll contribute to keeping the London Borough of Barnet's roads and pathways safe and well‑maintained while working in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out paving and tarmac repairs throughout the London Borough of Barnet.
  • Set up and remove traffic management systems to ensure public safety.
  • Perform daily checks on vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Use tablets and digital tools for record keeping and risk assessments.
  • Work collaboratively in small teams to complete assigned maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid driving licence.
  • Hold the relevant driving licence(s) allowing you to operate a vehicle of 7.5 tonnes and more.
  • Have experience with plant equipment.
  • Possess NRSWA and CSCS qualifications.
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Value teamwork and have a genuine commitment to health and safety.
