We're seeking a Bookkeeper to join our Business Outsourcing Team. You will form a key part of our growing outsourcing offering and will assist the senior management team in ensuring that our outsourced finance, VAT advisory and management reporting function meets and exceeds our client expectations. Our aim is to support client decision making and enhance our outsourcing offering. The role is client facing and will involve bookkeeping data entry preparation of management accounts to a high standard on our cloud-based systems.
This is a permanent role to be based at either our Edinburgh, Stirling or Kirkcaldy office, with office attendance expected to be 4 days per week.
As Bookkeeper your responsibilities will include among others:
- Working with our OMB/SME private companies on site, remotely or at our offices.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with a wide range of clients.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the client base.
- Processing Sales and Purchase Orders.
- Preparation of VAT returns for a range of clients.
- Reconciliation of key balance sheet control accounts.
- VAT administrative duties including VAT registrations, de-registrations and other HMRC communications as necessary.
- Review, analysis and interpretation of the management information.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Possess a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication and planning skills.
- Demonstrate experience of working with a portfolio of clients.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be solution focussed with a client centred outlook.
- Have experience with cloud-based accountancy packages particularly Xero, SAGE, Quickbooks and Dext, Free Agent.
- Demonstrate knowledge in key VAT areas including DRC, land and property, partial exemption and international transactions.
- Have understanding with regards to CIS.
