We’re looking for a Commercial Lead to join our Thames Water Framework based on the Maple Lodge STW project.
Location: Maple Lodge STW – remote working available, with travel to the office/site required at least 3 days a week.
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We’re seeking a Commercial Lead to oversee the commercial, financial and contractual aspects of the Maple Lodge STW upgrade project – one of our flagship £200m+ wastewater infrastructure schemes. You’ll play a central role in project delivery, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure commercial success from pre‑construction through to final account. What will you be responsible for?
- Leading all commercial, financial and contractual management for the project, ensuring compliance and driving financial performance.
- Managing and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors, supporting their development and fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
- Establishing robust cost management processes including forecasting, budget reporting and value engineering initiatives.
- Overseeing supply chain procurement, subcontract management and contract negotiation.
- Maintaining the commercial risk and opportunities register, identifying risks early and developing mitigation actions.
What are we looking for?
This role of Commercial Lead is great for you if:
- You have proven experience as a Commercial Manager on major civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
- You have a strong understanding of contract management and change control processes.
- You have demonstrable experience managing and mentoring a commercial team.
- You’re skilled in cost forecasting, financial reporting, subcontract management and commercial risk management.
- You have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across design, engineering and planning functions.
