We're looking for a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to join our Building Solutions team based in Southampton. Location: Southampton - remote working available with occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 40 hours per week with some flexibility on hours available if desired. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team, delivering high-quality bids and innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £15 million. You'll work collaboratively with our Operations Director and Business Development Manager, playing a vital role in securing and shaping projects from tender through to handover. This position offers genuine opportunities for professional growth and development as our workstream continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and coordinating all pre-construction activities from tender issue through to operational handover, ensuring milestones are achieved and quality standards maintained.
  • Managing and developing a team of pre-construction and estimating professionals, fostering collaboration and wellbeing whilst balancing workloads effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners, ensuring confidence in our ability to deliver exceptional results.
  • Contributing to bid strategy development and risk identification, working closely with governance, commercial, estimating, planning and design management colleagues.
  • Conducting site visits and engaging with stakeholders to inform detailed design and pricing processes, ensuring projects are de-risked during pre-construction stages.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND or degree in construction or engineering, with membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB, APM, CIAT or RICS.
  • Substantial pre-construction experience on projects up to £15 million, with a proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams to successful project delivery.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to clearly articulate requirements to diverse audiences and build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with commercial and contractual awareness alongside proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Collaborative working style, passion for construction, and supportive leadership that values team development and wellbeing.
