We're looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our Design team based in London / Birmingham / Manchester. Kier Design are a top-25 engineering consultancy, delivering a wide range of services across all sectors of the built environment, providing construction-focused, innovative and sustainable solutions. We have preferential access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, frameworks with national and local government and other public bodies, and a range of other interesting projects in every sector of the built environment.

Location: London / Birmingham / Manchester - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
- Supporting the Lead Engineer in delivering and managing highways structures schemes from initial investigation through to construction.
- Preparing technical designs, documents and drawings using the latest software, ensuring compliance with DMRB and MCHW standards.
- Undertaking site visits, structure inspections and gathering essential background data to inform design decisions.
- Working collaboratively with team members to achieve project targets whilst maintaining your personal utilisation goals.
- Completing CDM documentation and promoting health, safety and environmental excellence across all project aspects.
What are we looking for?
- You hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering and are working towards Incorporated or Chartered status.
- You have experience in the design of structures maintenance or new-build schemes and knowledge of DMRB and MCHW standards.
- You understand Health and Safety Management and CDM Regulations, applying these confidently in your work, with demonstrated experience of working in an engineering consultancy.
- You are committed to your professional development and keen to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
