The Structural Engineer position in Penryn offers a salary between £35,000 and £50,000, alongside 40 days of annual leave, within a full-time contract. We are looking for an enthusiastic Structural Engineer to join a busy team in a stunning Cornwall location. The right candidate will ideally have a minimum of 3-4 years post-graduation experience following completion of a degree recognised by the IStructE or ICE. This practice has a talented team covering structural engineering and architecture and works with architects across the region as well as a number of highly respected London based firms. Experience with design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot etc. will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other design teams
- Running your own projects
- Developing your existing design abilities while learning new skills such as project management
- Managing a team of Graduate Engineers and Technicians
- Producing design packages in all traditional materials including; steel, RC, timber and masonry
- Attending company and industry networking events
- Structural surveys and report writing
You will work in an engineering team producing calculations, drawings and details for projects ranging from small domestic alterations to multi million pound new builds. Working independently as well as part of a team, depending on the project. Good communication is essential, as well as a practical approach and construction knowledge. A driving license and own transport are essential.
