Pertemps Leeds is recruiting a Transport Planner to join a leading international logistics provider in Bradford, on a full-time, temp-to-permanent basis, offering a salary between £28,000 and £32,000 per annum. Working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, you will support daily transport operations, managing schedules and completing all associated paperwork accurately. Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of a leading international logistics and transport provider for a Transport Planner to join their team based in Bradford.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day transport function, ensuring schedules are effectively managed and all transport documentation is completed accurately. The operation follows a traditional planning process, with a strong emphasis on administration and paperwork rather than automated transport management systems. This role is therefore well suited to an individual who is highly organised, methodical and comfortable working in a documentation-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with drivers, customers and internal departments to ensure the smooth delivery of transport services.
- Prepare, process and maintain accurate transport documentation.
- Manage proof of delivery paperwork and transport records.
- Monitor vehicle movements and communicate updates where required.
- Respond to operational changes and support the resolution of transport-related issues.
- Provide administrative support to the wider transport team.
- Ensure all transport activities are completed in accordance with company procedures and compliance requirements.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience within a Transport Planner or Coordinator role
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build professional working relationships.
- The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A willingness to work within a traditional, paperwork-led transport operation.
