This role will work as part of the maintenance site services team at Solihull and is responsible for carrying out preventative and corrective tasks on gas appliances and HVAC equipment, as well as supporting all aspects of pipefitting and plumbing. The skilled maintenance technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the plant and equipment is effectively maintained and its technical availability remains at 100%.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As part of the Combustion Engineer team, you’ll be:

  • Installing gas appliances and gas systems
  • Carrying out planned maintenance checks on systems and equipment
  • Testing the integrity of controls and safety devices
  • Tracing and repairing gas leaks
  • Carrying out PPM and reactive works on commercial and domestic boiler systems across the sites on the portfolio
  • Responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance (service and breakdowns) including fault finding across a diverse range of natural gas fired boilers/systems
  • Pipe fitting skills would be desirable

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • A recognised gas industry Level 3 qualification, assessed through the Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) and Gas Safe registration
  • Core Domestic or Commercial Gas qualifications including either CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1 and/or CoDNCO1, CDGA1, CIGA1, ICPN1
  • Experience in installation or maintaining heating systems, repairing sanitation systems, installing domestic appliances, emergency repairs on water systems
  • Experience in installation of pipework and repairs for compressed air systems
  • Relevant electrical testing and fault-finding qualification such as ACOP 6/7
