JOB DESCRIPTION: MONTESSORI TEACHER
The Montessori Teacher reports to the Room Leader and Managers.
Responsibilities include:
- Adhering to CMDN policies & procedures, complying with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, EYFS, Montessori method, and Ofsted guidelines. Maintaining confidentiality within the nursery.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ensuring the care and supervision of children, addressing their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
- Planning and preparing activities tailored to children\’s individual needs, liaising with parents, and setting working targets to ensure effective communication.
- Providing equal opportunities respecting children\’s religious, racial, gender, disability, cultural, or linguistic backgrounds, and addressing instances of discrimination or racism.
- Keeping development records and observations.
- Managing children\’s behaviour positively.
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety of playrooms and equipment.
- Supervising and mentoring Nursery Assistants and Students, serving as a good role model, and assisting new staff integration.
- Monitoring and recording accidents, incidents, and risks.
- Overseeing meals and mealtime supervision.
- Performing laundry duties.
- Attending staff meetings as scheduled by Managers.
- Participating in parents\’ evenings, publicity events, open weekends, and children\’s outings.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Managers.
