Hi, I’m Paul, founder of Remote Online. For the past 25 years my wife and I have been building custom software that keeps real-world businesses running smoothly - think smoother logistics for Volvo or streamlined ops for mid-market firms pushing past £20 million in revenue. We’re a small UK-based shop of 16 tech-loving problem-solvers who believe smart code + good people = long-term success. I’ve never been one for corporate fluff. We keep hierarchy light, lean on AI and modern tooling, and back each other to get stuff done without drama. People stick with us because they own their work, learn fast, and have fun doing it. If this sounds like a place for you, read on!

We’re looking for a Full Stack Developer (.NET / React.js) who enjoys crafting robust back-end services and slick front-end experiences. You’ll thrive here if you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and fired up about helping clients scale through better systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Build backend services and APIs in .NET
  • Develop and integrate front-end components using React.js
  • Collaborate with designers, developers and project leads to shape features
  • Support system architecture and contribute to technical decisions
  • Ensure the codebase is clean, secure, scalable and well-tested
  • Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of team practices

Working hours: You’ll work full-time during UK business hours alongside the rest of our team. You’re the kind of person who’s reliable, proactive and takes pride in clean, thoughtful code. You love solving problems without fuss, welcome feedback, and stay calm when requirements shift. Above all, you enjoy collaborating with a friendly team and owning your craft from idea to deployment.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 4+ years of strong experience in .NET / C#
  • Solid React.js skills (component-driven architecture)
  • Confidence with RESTful APIs and relational databases (SQL Server or PostgreSQL)
  • Comfort using Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote setup

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with Azure services and DevOps pipelines
  • Familiarity with Razor Pages / MVC
  • Exposure to Umbraco CMS
  • Experience building with .NET Maui
  • Understanding of Entity Framework Core
  • Background in cross-functional Agile teams

What’s in it for you?

  • £2900 – £3750 per month (depending on experience)*
  • 25 days paid time off + UK public holidays
  • 5 days of paid sick leave
  • Remote-first culture - work from wherever you’re happiest
  • Professional development support

*Please note that this is a gross salary and that you are responsible for any tax-related procedures in your country of residence. We kindly ask you to apply only if you are happy to work remotely as an independent contractor.

The hiring process for this position will include the following steps:

  • Filling in the application form once you click “Apply”
  • Upload your CV
  • Short interview with a technical recruiter
  • Coding test, if short-listed
  • Attending video interviews with the hiring team where you will have the opportunity to talk more about your previous experience and the new role

To ensure your application is considered, take the time to carefully read the job description and submit a high-quality application. We will, of course, provide you with feedback throughout the process.

Please note that this position requires 100% commitment and is not suitable for those seeking a side job, freelance work, or part-time employment. It is important to only apply if you intend this to be your primary and only full-time job.
