The predicted salary is between 26509 - 26509 Β£ per year.
The purpose of this role is to prepare food samples for analysis as specified by and in line with client requirements, ensuring smooth operation and flow of samples by following standard procedures currently in place. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete the preparation of food samples in accordance with standard operating procedures, standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
- Distribution of samples to laboratories for analysis.
- Identify any anomalies and take the necessary steps for a quick resolution.
- Adhere to documented procedures for all aspects of departmental work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
- Maintain a turnaround time of >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding sample/result queries via email and telephone, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Participate in cross-departmental developmental training to support and assist with the registration of chemistry samples.
- Wear personal protective clothing equipment in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
- Possess knowledge of the Laboratory Quality Manual to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and associated documents referred to in the manual.
- Assist in operating best practice to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent.
- Experience in a laboratory and production environment desired but not essential.
- Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
