Do you take pride in producing high-quality work and enjoy seeing a job through from start to finish? We're looking for a Welder / Fitter to join our Production team in Blackpool, helping to manufacture and assemble components that keep our vehicles operating at their best.
Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you'll use your fabrication, fitting and welding expertise to build and assemble components to specification, ensuring every product meets our quality and safety standards.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welding and fabricating mild steel and stainless steel components using MIG welding techniques
- Interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions
- Preparing materials and assembling fabricated components and structures
- Carrying out fitting and installation work within the workshop environment
- Inspecting your own work, identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Supporting a "right first time" approach and helping to prevent faults moving through the production process
- Maintaining a safe, organised work area and following all health and safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting continuous improvement activities across the production team
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a Welder / Fitter, Fabricator Welder or similar manufacturing role
- Experience with MIG welding and medium to heavy steel fabrication
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and build specifications
- Experience assembling and fitting fabricated components
- A good eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship
- Welding or fabrication qualifications and relevant training
- A flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills
- The ability to work in confined or awkward positions when required and undertake occasional heavy lifting
