About Us

We’re building the world’s leading cross-border fintech for emerging markets - empowering families, fueling local economies, and changing how millions access financial services. Since our launch in 2019, we have transformed how money moves across borders with our operations spanning 6 out of 7 continents and covering both the busiest and most underserved (remittance) corridors. We tapped into a massive shift - from banks to phones - bringing digital finance to places where traditional systems never reached. The next stage of growth will fuel a network of services and products especially designed to make money more accessible to diaspora communities including local cards, and additional savings and payments features.

We’re growing fast, backed by world-class investors, and scaling a product that blends real world impact with cutting edge fintech innovation.

Here’s a little more:

  • Founded by Harvard grads and 3-time founders who previously built Segovia (acquired) and GiveDirectly (>$300M revenue, fastest-growing NGO in the world)
  • Backed by top investors including Spark Capital, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital, Unbound, Wamda, and more
  • Built by global top performers from Bain, Google, McKinsey, Uber, Checkout, Bolt, and beyond - we move fast, stay humble, and care deeply about our mission
  • Truly global team - 250+ people, 50+ nationalities, 50+ languages
  • Guided by our values - ownership, impact, humility, and heart - in deed, not just word

The Role

As the Treasury Operations Manager for our Francophone Africa corridors, you will own the risk and operational framework for our highest-reward (and most demanding) markets. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of treasury operations and credit risk: you will be responsible for ensuring Taptap Send takes the right risks, manages partner exposures effectively, and keeps money moving safely and efficiently.

You will work directly with intermediary financial partners in Francophone Africa, navigating environments where frameworks and funding flows can change quickly. You will be expected to build structure processes, push back on assumptions with evidence, and make sound risk decisions where there may be ambiguity. This role reports into senior leadership and plays a critical part in Taptap Send's corridor growth strategy. You will work cross-functionally with finance, compliance, and market teams, and serve as the internal expert on treasury risk across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Treasury Operations & Risk Management: Take full ownership of treasury operations and credit risk across Francophone Africa corridors, ensuring Taptap Send is taking the right risks at every step.
  • Assess & Monitor Counterparty Risk: Evaluate and track risk exposure with intermediary financial partners in high-volatility, emerging market environments, and building frameworks suited to real conditions, not textbook ones.
  • Build & Maintain Risk Frameworks: Design practical, scalable risk processes for corridors where regulatory frameworks move quickly.
  • Identify & Mitigate Operational Exposures: Surface risks before they become problems and develop concrete mitigations in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Partner Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with financial partners and institutions across Francophone Africa, acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with finance, compliance, legal, and markets teams to support corridor expansion and ensure operational continuity.
  • Communicate Risk Positions Clearly: Present risk assessments and recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence, including the ability to challenge prevailing views when the data warrants it.

What We’re Looking For

  • Credit & Risk Experience: You have meaningful, hands-on exposure to credit or counterparty risk, not as a side note on your CV, but as something you've genuinely owned in volatile, real-world conditions.
  • Emerging Markets Background: You have worked in or closely with emerging markets (particularly in Africa, India, or LatAm) and you understand what it means when partners are challenging, frameworks are fast moving, and the environment is unpredictable.
  • Fintech or Relevant Industry Experience: A background in fintech, payments, remittances, or risk-focused consulting is strongly preferred.
  • A Track Record of Building: We will ask what you personally built, changed, or delivered. We want to hear stories where the answer is clearly "I did this" and not "I supported the team that did this."
  • French & English Fluency: Fluency in both French and English is a requirement for this role given the nature of our partner relationships in Francophone Africa.
  • Analytical Rigour: Strong ability to work with financial data and build risk models; comfort with ambiguity and the judgement to act without a perfect brief.

Who You Are

  • Outgoing & Relationship-Oriented – You enjoy engaging with people, building trust, and fostering meaningful connections.
  • Execution-Oriented – You thrive in a fast-paced environment, turning ideas into impact.
  • Mission-Driven – Passionate about fintech-for-good and making a real difference in people's lives.
  • Highly Organized – Able to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic startup setting.
  • Resilient & Gritty – You push through challenges and find creative solutions to complex problems.
