Position Summary:
ESBO (European Service Business Organization) is responsible for identifying, evaluating and determining new opportunities within the digital media and advertising industry with the goal of creating scalable services and businesses on top of the global footprint of European Samsung Smart TVs. The ESBO team is working to create value for partners, advertisers, and agencies through its unique insights into TV viewership in the shifting media landscape. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Finance Manager to lead the commercial finance function within our Service Business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance by collaborating with commercial leaders to identify risks and opportunities, influencing commercial strategy and product performance.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead financial evaluation of content partner and licensing deals, including ROI feasibility and payback periods.
- Partner closely with Product and Partnerships teams to evaluate product economics to optimize profitability and growth.
- Design and maintain robust financial models linking revenue performance to key service metrics, including monthly active users and engagement hours.
- Work closely with commercial leaders to identify potential risks and opportunities with partners, the market and other business areas.
- Own the development of mitigation plans to address identified risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Lead regular commercial finance reviews to monitor performance against targets, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Support senior leadership with insights into business growth drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and headquarters to ensure financial objectives are met and business goals are achieved.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to commercial teams, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial policies.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial finance processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and set revenue targets in collaboration with commercial teams, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and top down targets.
What we need for this role:
- A proven track record of relevant experience in leading a finance function.
- In-depth understanding of business processes related to Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
- Korean fluency – a plus.
- Familiarity with media, TV measurement.
- Advanced Excel skills are required, including a deep understanding of formulas, macros, pivot tables.
- Experience working with Salesforce.
- Experience working with SAP.
- SQL skills – a plus.
- Experience working with statistical analysis/tools - a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
