Lead complex Energy Trading transformation programmes that deliver measurable business value across trading, operations, risk, and technology functions.

The Role

Capco is seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to lead strategic and operational change initiatives within leading Energy Trading organisations. Working across business and technology teams, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex transformation programmes spanning Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk, Settlements, Data, and Technology functions. You will manage delivery from initiation through implementation, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business objectives. This role requires strong project delivery expertise combined with a solid understanding of Energy Trading environments and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of business and technology transformation programmes across Energy Trading organisations.
  • Establish and manage project governance, delivery plans, RAID logs, dependencies, budgets, and reporting activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Drive programme execution across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, decision-making, risk mitigation, and successful implementation outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Project Management experience delivering large-scale change programmes within Energy Trading environments.
  • Strong understanding of one or more domains including Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk Management, Settlements, Pricing, Analytics, or Trading Operations.
  • Experience delivering ETRM/CTRM implementations or enhancements involving Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Openlink, or similar commodity trading platforms.
  • Experience delivering projects involving Gas, Power, LNG, Commodities Trading, Trade Capture, Deal Lifecycle Management, or Physical Energy Markets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and governance skills with the ability to operate across business and technology teams.
  • Experience managing complex delivery programmes within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid environments.

Bonus Points For

  • Knowledge of nominations, scheduling, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, pricing, market risk, credit risk, P&L, valuation, forecasting, or trading analytics.
  • Experience leading cloud transformation, data platform, integration, analytics, reporting, or market data initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM, Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of energy supply and demand fundamentals, pricing curves, market data, and trading operations.
