The Role

We are looking for a full-time Programming Technical Operations Manager based in London to join our 400-person global team. This role sits at the intersection between the Encoding and Programming teams, overseeing the end-to-end journey of materials from contract signing through to titles going live on the platform. You will be responsible for the delivery, tracking, and encoding of all video assets for the MUBI streaming platform, and will also collaborate closely with the Subtitling team to support the delivery, storage, and tracking of all subtitle assets. You will deeply care for all aspects of how filmmakers intend their work to be seen, and have eyes on all titles that will ever show on the platform in all parts of the world. This role will be based at our MUBI UK HQ in Central London for 3 days per week.

Where you’ll have impact:

  • Liaising with programming leads internally and rightsholders externally for material checks and delivery of video and accessibility files across all territories.
  • Leading cross-departmental meetings to align with programming schedules, ensuring deadlines are met in terms of video/subs delivery and encoding for all films playing on the platform.
  • Tracking, downloading, storing files for all titles showing on the platform and encoding at least 50% of those using Bitmovin and our in-house app built on top of FFMpeg infrastructure.
  • Maintaining material parity with MUBI channel on third-party platforms by ensuring all of our content is fully available on there and resolving any QC issues that arise.

  • Any other tasks that the team requires as we revamp our delivery and encoding workflows later this year.

What you’ll bring:

  • Solid experience with handling all sorts of media and an understanding of the ever-changing digital video landscape.
  • Experience with encoding in a professional or personal capacity.
  • Organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability of working in a collaborative environment.
  • Expertise on the Windows Operating System and all the wires that come with it.
  • Enthusiasm about learning quickly and adapting to new workflows and technology.
