We are looking for a proactive and experienced Monitoring Site Engineer/Site Supervisor to join our Monitoring & Surveying team in a field-based role. This position involves working across project sites, supporting the delivery of monitoring and surveying works while ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising personnel, and acting as the main point of contact for on-site operations.

The role requires flexibility, as you will be expected to work a combination of day and night shifts, with optional weekend working available depending on project requirements. This position is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension or the opportunity to become a permanent role, depending on project needs and performance.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Installing, commissioning, and monitoring geotechnical and structural instrumentation
  • Supervising and coordinating site personnel and daily site activities
  • Acting as the main point of contact for site operations
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Completing daily site reports and maintaining site records
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Supporting planning of works, plant, and subcontractor requirements
  • Monitoring HSE compliance and site safety procedures
  • Supporting the delivery and management of smaller works packages
  • Training and supporting site staff when required

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • GCSE English and Maths (A–C) or equivalent
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Sentinel Card with PTS/LUL (Personal Track Safety)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience working in a construction environment
  • Experience with instrumentation and monitoring equipment
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to health and safety and quality standards on site

It is desirable that you also have some or all of the following:

  • HSE training (e.g. First Aid, MHFA, IOSH)
  • Experience working on rail infrastructure projects
  • Experience working in tunnels or London Underground environments
  • Geotechnical instrumentation experience, including working with drill rigs
  • Additional certifications such as IPAF, WSI, PASMA, RFLI PRS, RFLI STL, SSSTS, CAT & Genny, or Track Trolley
  • Experience supervising teams and delivering works within programme and budget constraints
