We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support the design, delivery, and operation of mission-critical facilities, with a strong focus on data centre environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of mechanical systems, working closely with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
- Lead and manage the full MEP scope on a large-scale data centre project in Hertfordshire, North London.
- Oversee planning, coordination, installation, and delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and public health systems from construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Serve as the primary MEP point of contact for the Owner’s Representative, ensuring transparent reporting, alignment with the client's strategic vision, and timely resolution of owner queries or concerns.
- Manage MEP subcontractors and specialist vendors, ensuring performance, productivity, and quality targets are achieved.
- Ensure full integration of MEP works with CSA, commissioning, and project controls teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes and track progress against key milestones.
- Work closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, control costs, and manage variations.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and delivery challenges proactively.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all MEP activities.
- Lead coordination and progress meetings, providing clear reporting on performance, risks, and key deliverables.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final system handover processes.
- Drive a strong site culture focused on safety, quality, coordination, and delivery excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission-critical facility design, construction environments, and mechanical infrastructure.
- 5 years of experience with mechanical infrastructure systems such as HVAC, cooling systems, and water system engineering.
- 5 years of experience with data centre operations and working with mechanical contractors and cross-functional project teams.
- 5 years of experience with electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures, including resolution and documentation maintenance for mechanical designs.
