We are supporting the offload of compressor system design and integration activities to a managed service environment and are looking for a highly capable Systems Integration Engineer to join a complex, high-performance programme. This role sits at the heart of gas turbine / turbomachinery development, working across integration, validation, and in-service support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compressor system integration activities across multiple parallel workstreams
- Support product system design integration, working closely with cross-functional teams
- Conduct and lead OSOR investigations and root cause analysis (RCI)
- Provide complex technical validation and verification support
- Support SAR (Safety Assessment Report) activities, including fleet health and risk tracking
- Manage sampling closure and DoRA updates
- Produce clear reporting and updates for Technical Leads
- Contribute to additional subsystem and integration activities as required
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Experience with Teamcenter
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX
- Familiarity with LCE tools, such as: OSORs, FRACAS
- Ability to conduct root cause investigations (e.g. Fishbone, EBRCA)
- Working with Gas turbines whether that be in thermofluids or in a more mechanical role
- Proven experience in systems integration / systems engineering within aerospace or turbomachinery
- Strong understanding of compressor systems / cold-end turbomachinery, including: Casings & structures, Stress, vibration, aero & aeromechanics, Tip clearance, engine loads & interactions
- Experience working across the product lifecycle, including design, integration, and validation
- Strong experience in validation & verification (V&V) and ability to challenge requirements
- Familiarity with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- Systems Engineering capability including: DFMEA, Requirements management processes, Concept development & selection
- Knowledge of safety processes: FMECA, SARs, RedTop (or similar frameworks)
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (after initial onboarding)
- Comfortable managing multiple parallel tasks and shifting priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Basic understanding of engine certification processes and compliance is desirable
