We're building the future of payments, and to do that, we need to operate at the highest possible standards. We are currently scaling a new, high-impact operations team, strategically positioned at the centre of the organisation, to supercharge our product delivery and drive execution excellence across the entire business. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of the product engine at Checkout as we continue to pursue multiple growth opportunities from our core Acquiring portfolio to broader solutions such as Issuing, Payouts, IDV, Risk and Financial Experiences.

This Operations and Strategy opportunity is a high-impact, hands-on role for exceptional problem-solvers. Each individual in the team will be specially selected for a new program, each embedded directly into tactical product teams. Their mission is to be a professional problem-solver who can take on the most complex operational and strategic challenges, find the root cause using data, and then design, build, and implement scalable, automated solutions. This role demands executional excellence, process automation, and data-driven problem-solving. The successful candidate will combine granular, hands-on experience in executing processes with a high-level strategic view, redesigning and automating those processes to drive tangible value. This is a high-visibility position with direct exposure to the CEO and executive team, offering significant opportunities for career advancement into high-level roles and responsibilities within Product, Technology, and the wider organisation at Checkout.

Remit and Responsibilities

  • Act as a Professional Problem-Solver: Take ownership of complex, ambiguous business problems and use a first-principles, data-driven methodology to find the root cause and build a solution.
  • Execute, Analyze, and Automate: Personally execute existing processes to understand their flaws; redesign, optimise and implement new, automated workflows to enhance speed, efficiency and quality.
  • Own Data Collection & Analysis: Identify the correct metrics, own the data collection process, and build dashboards to provide a clear, data-backed view of progress, bottlenecks and performance to leadership.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Execution: Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional projects from end-to-end, such as deploying new systems or coordinating new processes across teams like People, Product and Engineering.
  • Inform Strategy with Bottom-Up Insights: Use ground-level data and process insights to feed actionable information back to leadership, informing strategic decisions about execution capabilities.
  • Manage Program Reporting (Automation-First): Handle project and program tracking with a primary focus on automating the reporting rather than merely administering it.

Desired Background, Core Competencies

  • Professional Experience: Multiple years in influential, ideally cross-functional roles, in fast-paced, high-performance environments.
  • Background: Formative experience in STEM studies, high-level Manufacturing, or Professional Services (e.g., Management Consulting, Investment Banking) valued but not essential.
  • Elite Problem-Solver: World-class, structured problem-solver who navigates ambiguity with process and first-principles thinking; will be heavily tested.
  • Relentless Executor: “Get it done” mentality with proven ability to execute and implement solutions themselves.
  • Data-Driven: Highly comfortable with data, able to find, analyse and use it to build business cases, justify conclusions and drive decisions.
  • Growth Mindset: Ambitious, intellectually curious, approaches work with a dedicated, results-driven attitude.
  • Collaborative: Natural team player who can collaborate with diverse, cross-functional stakeholders and influence outcomes without formal authority.
  • Education: Whether through further education or early entrepreneurial or operational experience, must have set high standards from early on.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and identities to apply.
