The Role
Capco is seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to support strategic and operational change initiatives within leading Energy Trading organisations. Working at the intersection of business, technology, and trading operations, you will partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Commercial Operations, Risk, Pricing, Settlements, Data, and Technology teams to deliver complex change programmes. You will play a key role in translating business needs into practical technology solutions while helping clients optimise trading processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance decision‑making capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements, facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions across business and technology teams.
- Produce high‑quality artefacts including user stories, process models, functional specifications, business requirements documents, and data requirements.
- Define current and future‑state operating models, supporting business readiness, process improvement, and organisational change activities.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams within Agile (Azure DevOps) and hybrid delivery environments, supporting backlog management and prioritisation.
- Ensure end‑to‑end traceability from requirements through delivery while supporting testing, UAT, implementation, and stakeholder decision‑making.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Business Analysis experience delivering complex business and technology change programmes within Energy Trading environments.
- Experience across one or more Energy Trading domains including Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk Management, Settlements, Pricing, Analytics, or Trading Operations.
- Technical awareness of SQL, Python, APIs, data modelling, data lineage, and integration concepts.
- Knowledge of Gas, Power, LNG, Commodities Trading, Trade Capture, Deal Lifecycle Management, or Physical Energy Markets.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, requirements engineering, and process modelling skills.
- Proven experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and engaging with both business and technology stakeholders.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms such as Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Openlink, or other commodity trading systems.
- Knowledge of nominations, scheduling, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, pricing, market risk, credit risk, P&L, valuation, forecasting, or trading analytics.
- Experience delivering cloud transformation, data platform, integration, analytics, reporting, or market data initiatives.
- Understanding of energy supply and demand fundamentals, pricing curves, market data, and quantitative modelling environments.
