We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our customer Site Unilever in Leeds, for our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. The role is full time, working on a permanent basis and will be working on a 4 ON 4 OFF shift pattern with opportunities working Days and Nights:
- Day Shift between 06:00 and 18:00
- Night Shift between 18:00 and 06:00
Pay Rates: We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift:
- Mon-Fri Days - £15.15 per hour
- Mon-Fri Nights - £16.35 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Nights - £18.65 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
- Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour
On top of base salary, our HGV Drivers will be entitled to a £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.
Driver Responsibilities:
- General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
- Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
- Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
- Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation
Qualifications:
- You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions
- Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
- Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
- Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
- Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills
