About the role
At Helios X, we're looking for a meticulous and driven Lab Assistant to play a critical role in our Leamington Spa Hub.
This is not just a lab-based role - it's an opportunity to become a guardian of quality, hygiene, and precision in a fast paced pharmaceutical setting.
From setting up and maintaining a controlled cleanroom environment, to handling ingredients with care and operating specialist equipment in line with strict safety procedures, you'll be central to ensuring biological integrity and product excellence.
In this role you'll collaborate closely with production, dispensary and warehouse teams to keep operations running smoothly while maintaining detailed quality control records and upholding COSHH and regulatory standards.
This role is based onsite at our Leamington Spa Hub. Working hours are Monday Friday 9am 5pm.
- What you'll be doing
- Set up the clean room and ensure all tools and apparatus are thoroughly cleaned
- Maintain biological integrity and equipment hygiene at the beginning and end of each day
- Handle ingredients in the clean room
- Repackage raw materials
- Set up machines ready for preparation of products
- Participate in cleaning procedures
- Act as a key member of the filling and product assembly line ensuring high quality and consistency
- Operate machines in line with related safety procedures and risk assessments
- Collaborate with production, dispensary and warehouse teams to manage ingredients and final product
- Conduct quality control process including collecting, logging and keeping accurate records
- Assess and report anomalies or malfunctions to other staff
- Work in a fast, efficient and controlled manner, often standing for long periods of time
- Pack the product and ensure it is labelled correctly for distribution, working well as part of a multidisciplinary team to dispatch on time
- Assist in daily monitoring of room pressure, temperature, and humidity to keep the cleanroom within legal parameters
- Properly dispose of pharmaceutical waste and hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH and local regulations

- Ability to read and follow written instructions, with good numeracy skills
- Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems and issues
- Basic mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
- Attention to detail - verify that all materials on the line meet company standards
- Basic computer skills - understanding of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
- Good verbal communication skills
- Experience in a pharmacy, laboratory or manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Ability to wear full Personal Protective Equipment
