The Head of Origination has the primary role of overseeing the activities of junior professionals and monitoring performance as a whole to generate commercial opportunities. The Head of Origination defines and communicates the business’s KPIs and targets to junior sales personnel on a regular basis, analyses patterns in consumer and market behaviour, and subsequently defines data‑driven action strategies in order to consistently optimise the business’s commercial performance. Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and performance management to the sales team.
- Create and implement sales plans that incorporate key actions that work to set KPIs for the business.
- Establish and foster partnerships and relationships with key customers both externally and internally.
- Identify areas of improvement in sales strategies through various research and analyses.
- Monitor and observe the product and market, making forecasts and identifying new trends ahead of the curve, hence offering the business a competitive advantage.
- Utilise analytics tools and work with the analytics team in undertaking detailed analyses of sales performance for reporting sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to management.
- Work collaboratively across teams – including Dealing, Product, Compliance and Data.
- Take responsibility for the department’s performance against targets.
- Assist in the execution of duties upon request.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar environment, ideally with some leadership experience.
- Demonstrable track record of sales within FX or other cross‑border financial services (e.g. import lending, export lending, international payments and collections, cash management).
- Experience in nurturing or mentoring very junior talent.
- Strong Financial Services experience and contacts network.
- Experience of the local market.
- Ideally with a business/finance academic background.
