Our Data Centre Operations team is at the physical core of our business, responsible for building, maintaining, and operating the cutting‑edge infrastructure that powers the cloud. This team ensures the stability, security, and scalability of our physical assets, working hands‑on in a fast‑paced, hyper‑growth environment to deliver a best‑in‑class experience for our clients.

The Data Centre Technician will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of our Glasgow data centre operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repair, and includes maintenance of operations to ensure consistent service availability. You will be responsible for root cause analysis of failures, training internal teams, and developing documentation or scripts to update server and networking hardware. As part of this 100% on‑site role, you must be able to respond to on‑site equipment failures within 60 minutes while scheduled on‑call and travel up to 10% of the time to other locations as required.

Who You Are:

  • Computer Hardware experience, including troubleshooting and assembling.
  • Linux Operating System experience.
  • Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and manoeuvre in cramped or elevated spaces, such as ladders or under‑floor areas.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills for handling small hardware components and cables.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including participating in a rotating on‑call shift.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and react quickly to issues.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties in environments with fluctuating temperatures ranging from 60°F to 90°F.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Computer Networking.
  • Python, Bash, or other scripting languages experience.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT‑related field.
