  • Shift Pattern - 6am-2pm rotating with 2pm-10pm & 10pm - 6am

We have a new role at Valeo Foods in Gateshead the heart of tortilla & rice cake magic! We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven

Production Shift Manager to join our production crew.

As the Production Shift Manager

, you will lead the production area and people for your shift. You will have full accountability for the following:

  • People Management
  • Lead and supervise a team of production operators, technicians, and support staff within the designated area.
  • Foster a positive team culture by providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee training and development to ensure staff are fully trained and compliant with company procedures and the plant is manned correctly to cover absence, holidays, ect.
  • Ensure effective communication across shifts and between departments to maintain smooth operations.
  • Production & Process Management
  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules and operational targets.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Optimize processes for continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to production timelines and quality standards.
  • GMP & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure all operations comply with GMP standards, health, safety regulations, and food safety policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of the production area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Key Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or confectionery industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, health & safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive results against set targets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • IT and PC knowledge – able to use widespread functions within relevant software.
  • Ability to be able to work alone, or as part of a team with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • An aptitude to develop new skills.
