Wavemaker UK is looking for a Planning Lead to join our growing planning team, to drive forward our planning output and help to create amazing work for our clients. In this role, you will:
- Lead the Wavemaker planning output on your specific client to create unrivalled work.
- Articulate the strategic approach into media behaviours and train and support the wider team.
- Strategically utilize tools and specialisms outside of planning (sources of growth, measurement, learning agenda, data, etc).
- Build presence outside of current teams and drive visibility of the planning team within the wider agency.
- Bring a fresh perspective to planning approaches, including the use of different tools, new insights and coach others to challenge the status quo.
- Overall responsibility for the development of all planning responses, ensuring we deliver unrivalled work in all executions.
- Manage senior client relationships, understanding what they need for their business and how to drive growth for them.
- Manage the planning team, ensuring clear personal objectives, structure and regular reviews.
- Build and develop relationships with media owners and look for opportunities to create unrivalled work.
- Have an advanced commercial understanding of Wavemaker's products and services, identifying suitable solutions and how to sell them.
- Be a storytelling expert, driving added value with the team and boosting output quality.
Skills and Experience
- Advanced understanding of the industry and future trends; internal consultant/expert on tools and technology.
- Effective guidance for junior team members on advanced elements.
- Works with leadership to develop new solutions and spot new applications.
- Performs complex analyses, identifies issues before they become problems, supports business leaders to find solutions and manages escalations.
- Stakeholder management: deep understanding of client and agency structures, advises key stakeholders and provides trusted advice and deliverables.
- Effective communication: leads the delivery of relevant information, influences and educates all levels of seniority, creates clear, concise communication materials.
- Campaign management: sets accuracy and thoroughness standards, balances short‑term and long‑term goals, manages multiple overlapping timelines and competing demands.
- Compelling storytelling: leads the creation of stories, designs differentiated communications for internal and external audiences.
- Ideas creation: develops strategies to bring new technologies, innovations and products to life, challenges the client and team to innovate.
- Comms planning: high technical knowledge of media touchpoints, serves as consultant and quality controller of plans, strategies and frameworks, and challenges norms.
