We Are Looking For: Advanced Systems Group LLC is seeking Live Production Technicians to join our high-performing team and support a high-frequency, multi-studio streaming platform producing simultaneous live and on‑demand content, where every production run serves both a live audience and a permanent content library. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in robotic camera operation and video production, with a strong eye for framing, and the technical ability to troubleshoot and keep productions running smoothly.
This position is part of our Flex Workforce. As a Flex team member, you'll work on a project-to-project basis, supporting a variety of leading media and technology clients. Flex roles are ongoing and dynamic; work may vary in cadence, length, and scope depending on client needs. This setup offers flexibility, exposure to top-tier companies, and the chance to grow your skills across multiple exciting assignments.
Estimated schedule: Shift-based rotation including early mornings, evenings, weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), and public holidays as required. Between 20 and 40-hour workweeks. (Specific schedules will vary by project and client engagement.)
Responsibilities:
- Operate robotic camera systems and support general technical setup to deliver high-quality live and recorded production.
- Work closely with the technical director and vision mixer to find, set up, and transition between shots in real time.
- Track talent movement and anticipate the next shot with a strong eye for framing.
- Adapt camera approach across multiple studio environments with distinct staging and spatial conditions.
- Act as the first point of escalation for production-related issues, working through established troubleshooting procedures before escalating to engineering.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and uphold production quality for live and prerecorded streams.
- Support the workflow that transforms live events into on-demand assets.
- Ensure smooth execution of production runs, including protocols, timings, and on-the-ground coordination.
- QC additional production content, including scenic assets, original production, and remote content.
- Contribute to an environment that values creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional experience in a live broadcast, studio, or live events production environment.
- Hands‑on experience operating robotic camera systems with a strong instinct for shot framing and talent tracking.
- Comfortable collaborating with a technical director and vision mixer during live multi-camera production.
- Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow structured procedures and elevate when needed.
- Mark Roberts Robotic Camera Control System or similar robotic camera platform.
- Sony FS7 Camera (Robotic Operation) or comparable broadcast camera.
- Ross Carbonite / TouchDrive or similar vision mixing system.
- RTS Comms Panels or similar production communications systems.
- Basic familiarity with audio mixers and live studio audio environments.
- Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Motivated team player with a proactive approach, strong communication, and a commitment to collaborative working.
- Basic Mac OS X and Apple computer experience.
- Ross and EVS Control Panels.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Background in live sports production or experience as a camera operator in a high-energy live environment.
- Familiarity with fitness or movement-based content and the ability to anticipate how talent moves on camera.
- Dante Networked Audio Protocol.
- Yamaha QL1 Audio Mixing Console or similar digital audio console.
- Understanding of end-to-end streaming workflows.
- Comfort working in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Adaptable and able to quickly turn a tight training schedule into high-level performance.
