If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Major Projects team as our Civil Engineer, Design Team Lead and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

You will be part of a high-performing, delivery-focused civils team that operates across international markets (primarily Canada, the Nordics and UK&I) and project phases, combining design leadership, contractor collaboration and commercial awareness to win and deliver complex design-and-build projects while maintaining strong governance, documentation and client relationships. You will help secure and deliver Ramboll’s first €multibillion main-works civils D&B project as a key design team player, complete the detailed design phases for assigned scopes, ensure timely preparation and submission of Task Authorisation deliverables while managing SME inputs to agreed hours and timelines, and establish and manage contractor relationships to strengthen tender prospects and support ongoing pursuits.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and coordinate single-discipline design inputs within multidisciplinary teams on large civils D&B / contractor‑led projects.
  • Support pursuit and delivery of Ramboll’s targeted €multibillion main works civils D&B projects where Ramboll is lead or co‑lead designer and help complete detailed design.
  • Engage with contractors and clients in target markets (Canada, Nordics, UK/Ireland); attend and run contractor and client meetings (e.g., quarterly contractor meetings in Canada).
  • Support RLAT / advisory engagements (Transport Canada Technical Advisory) by preparing and reviewing Task Authorisation (TA) submittals, coordinating Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and managing subconsultants.
  • Assist internal tender activities: contribute CRM/PI tool entries, Decision Gates and cost/fee setting for new tenders.
  • Help manage invoicing and liaise with finance for advisory contract invoicing procedures.
  • Maintain and organise project documentation, lists of internal SMEs/contacts, and perform handover/knowledge transfer tasks.
  • Act as a point of contact for contractors/partners on assigned opportunities and ensure communication handover where required.
