Engineers at Imagination Technologies design the world’s highest performing graphics processors. We need you to join the Linux driver development team and put your software development skills to the test. The team develops the Linux graphics stack and your focus will be on the kernel drivers and supporting the platforms used for development. You will be a member of a small team, working alongside other software teams implementing the full driver stack for PowerVR graphics hardware.
As Linux is our main development and build environment, the Linux team are key to making sure that we and our partners can work at their best. This means that as well as developing Linux and Open Source specific portions of our proprietary driver - display, kernel interfaces and hardware-specific portions of Mesa and Wayland - there’s exposure to build and source control. This role will bring you into contact with current and future generations of 3D hardware targeting consumer and desktop devices.
You Will:
- Design and develop Linux graphics drivers to drive our current and next generation graphics cores
- Maintain the drivers throughout the whole software and hardware lifecycles
- Be involved in the production and release of the driver software
- Work closely within the team and liaise with other research and development teams

- Excellent C programming skills
- Excellent software design skills
- Experience with developing in a Linux environment
- A good understanding of computer architecture issues
You Might Also Have:
- Experience in low-level driver development for Linux
- Knowledge of how CPUs, compute or graphics hardware works (virtual memory, MMUs, caches, etc.)
- Knowledge of the Linux graphics stack (XOrg, Mesa, Wayland, etc.)
- Some experience with graphics APIs (EGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan etc.)
- Experience with platform bring-up, such as BSP development
- BEng or BSc in computer science, electronics, another STEM subject, or relevant experience
