Job Responsibilities
- Build, develop and manage trusted relationships with current and potential clients.
- Provide personalised investment advice and portfolio management to the client, ensuring that investment portfolios are managed in line with the Company’s Investment philosophies and process.
- Look after and support client needs.
- Plan, implement and execute the annual Business plan in line with agreed individual targets.
- Build new client relationships and develop existing client relationships through effective ongoing service to help minimise attrition, and to deliver new instructions and referrals as a result of satisfied clients.
- Structure and lead client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information provided is up to date, technically accurate and meets clients' needs.
- Construct and maintain suitable portfolios in line with the clients' requirements, circumstances, tax situation and attitude to risk.
- Review portfolios regularly and make portfolio changes consulting with colleagues, where appropriate.
- Place deals accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Work in partnership with Financial Planning (FP) colleagues to develop client relationships.
- Ensure comprehensive client records are kept and that these are accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy.
- Strive for no complaints and where they are received ensure that they are raised with the Client Resolution team in a timely fashion and assist in bringing them to a satisfactory resolution.
- Maintain and develop knowledge and skills in line with industry, regulatory and internal requirements by undertaking CPD.
- Contribute to the business development design and implementation initiatives across the location, working with Managing Partners, Regional Managing Partners and key stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.
- Assist in the induction, mentoring and development of new Investment Managers.
Qualifications
- Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintain an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing.
- Business acumen together with experience in developing and implementing business plans.
- Proven track record of leading pitches and winning new business.
- Extensive experience of working within an investment management environment servicing high net worth private individuals, institutions and charities.
- Proven experience of managing client investment portfolios and providing investment advice.
- Proven ability to remodel newly acquired portfolios, bringing them into line with the investment policy.
- Technical and product knowledge and effective communication of wide-ranging investment management strategies and solutions.
- Ability to work well in a pressurised environment and prioritise work.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to mentor, train and develop investment management colleagues.
- Extensive experience operating within a risk management framework and a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business.
