We are now looking for a Lab Technician to join our team and help us to continue to do things the right way for customers, colleagues and the planet.

With over 1,000 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide delivering excellent performance, we supply premium cooking oils, and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser. A little bit more about the role:

  • Responsible for the smooth and timely operation of an in-house laboratory.
  • Collecting samples as required from relevant tanks for internal and external testing.
  • Perform quality tests and ensure the company meets its quality assurance standards.
  • Work with site management and SHEQ department in preparation for audits.
  • Test and calibrate equipment to optimum results.
  • Training of process operators in using basic lab functions.
  • Recommend and execute agreed additional analytical work to assist in problem solving.

  • Experience in laboratory team.
  • Ideal candidate will have a degree in chemistry or biology and at least 2 years' experience in a lab environment or equivalent combination.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems like ISO9001.
  • COSHH Knowledge is essential.
  • Hands on, proactive response.
  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritise flexing deadlines.
  • Experience and competence with 'wet chemistry' techniques.
  • High level of attention to detail.
