Turner & Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers to the Infrastructure sector and we have a thriving UK Estimating team making the difference for a large number of clients both in the UK and Overseas. We are now looking for talented Associate Director-level Estimating professionals to work on a wide variety of exciting projects/programmes and support the leadership of our ambitious growth plans.
Our team deliver a wide range of Estimating outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:
- Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles)
- Estimating Assurance
- Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up
- Estimating Data
Responsibilities
As an Associate Director within the Estimating team at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:
- Leading or managing the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes
- Playing a leading role in the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend
- Playing a leading role in the achievement of departmental objectives
- Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise
- Working with Directors to construct bids for new work
- Providing direction to staff working for you and with you on specific tasks
- Acting as a role model for less experienced staff
- Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
- Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
- Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
- Staff management (where appropriate)
- Knowledge management
Qualifications
- Proven Estimating Management experience
- Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
- Previous experience of working with estimating software packages
- Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
- Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects
- Experience of working in the Infrastructure (Rail, air, power, highways) sector
- Experience in leading and managing teams
