JML Jobmatcha are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a well-established contractor specialising in Groundworks and RC Frame projects across London and the South East. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Estimator to work on major residential and commercial developments while benefiting from flexible hybrid working arrangements.

The Role

You will take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, producing accurate and competitive estimates across a variety of groundwork and reinforced concrete frame packages. The role will involve a mix of home working, office attendance in Brent Cross, and occasional site visits/tender meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation
  • Carrying out take-offs and quantity measurements
  • Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
  • Working closely with senior management and operational teams
  • Supporting successful project handovers to delivery teams
  • Keeping up to date with market rates and industry trends

Requirements

  • Proven experience estimating Groundworks and RC Frame projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and commercial processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good IT skills including Excel and estimating software
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
