Location: Rainham, Essex (occasional travel to Watford/Woking)

Salary: £13.50 - £16.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to support the Business Unit Financial Controller within our Building Solutions team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with finance administration or accounting experience looking to develop their career within a busy commercial environment. The successful candidate will support financial reporting, cost control and day-to-day accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet and WIP reconciliations
  • Assist with cost reviews, analysis and financial reporting
  • Manage sales ledger activities including invoice processing and cash allocation
  • Support purchase order and cost entry processes
  • Assist with month-end journals and reporting
  • Create jobs within finance systems and produce analysis reports
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to improve financial accuracy

About You:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Experience using finance systems (SAP desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and VLOOKUPs
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Studying or interested in progressing towards AAT/CIMA would be advantageous
