About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering project in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering experience to take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with the project delivery and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering projects.
- Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
- Prepare and manage applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
- Review and assess changes, variations and compensation events.
- Monitor project performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare accurate monthly cost/value reports and forecasts.
- Assist with procurement and subcontractor negotiations.
- Manage contractual and commercial correspondence.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors.
- Provide commercial advice to the project team.
- Ensure contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
- Support the successful delivery of projects within budget and programme.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Experience managing civil engineering projects and subcontract packages.
- Experience with valuations, variations, final accounts and cost reporting.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A relevant Quantity Surveying or construction-related qualification is desirable.
- Experience with NEC contracts would be advantageous.
