Your Role as a Civil Engineering Graduate As a Civil Engineering Graduate with us, you ll play a crucial role in reducing flood risks and supporting our journey to becoming a carbon net-zero organisation by 2030. Our Graduate Training Scheme is a structured, hands-on programme that spans 4-5 years, giving you the skills, experience, and network to kickstart an extraordinary career. Here s what you can expect: Diverse Placements: With 6-12 month rotations across different teams, you ll get to work on everything from asset management to project planning and site supervision. Flexible Pathways: Your journey is tailored to your interests. Whether you want to focus on hands-on engineering, strategic planning, or project management, we help you shape your future. Learning & Development: Accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), our programme guides you toward Incorporated (IEng) and Chartered (CEng) status. Teams You ll Work With: Asset Performance: Help maintain critical flood defences, assess assets, propose solutions, and manage small construction projects. Partnerships and Strategic Overview (PSO): Contribute to future flood defence projects, conduct financial benefit assessments, and engage with partners and communities. Programme and Contract Management (PCM): Lead projects that protect communities, gaining experience in financial management, contract negotiation, and supplier coordination. Throughout the programme, you ll work alongside expert engineers and receive mentorship and support from our professional development advisors. What We re Looking For Are you passionate about making a difference? If you re a graduate with a background in Civil Engineering (ideally with an MEng or BEng degree) and have an ICE-accredited degree, we want to hear from you. Successful candidates will hold, or be prepared to obtain, a full UK driving license within six months.
