A temporary to permanent opportunity based in Bodmin, Cornwall.

We are looking for an experienced Civils Chargehand to join a growing team. This is a temporary full-time role with a strong opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. If you are a hands-on leader who thrives on getting the job done safely and efficiently, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

  • Lead and supervise a small team (up to 6 operatives)
  • Deliver high-quality civils work including kerbing, drainage, and hand-laying tarmac
  • Organise plant, materials, and day-to-day site activities
  • Carry out daily briefings and maintain accurate site records
  • Ensure compliance with RAMS and safe working practices
  • Read and interpret utility drawings and construction plans

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a Civils Chargehand or similar role
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Competent across a range of manual civils duties
  • Ability to read drawings and use CAT can-do attitude
  • Comfortable dealing with the public on-site

Essential:

  • Valid CSCS Card
  • NRSWA Operative
  • Full UK Driving Licence (LGV desirable)
  • Ability to securely park a 3.5t vehicle
