We’re looking for an experienced Civils Chargehand to join a growing team based in Bodmin, Cornwall. This is a temporary full-time role with a strong opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

The Role
- Lead and supervise a small team (up to 6 operatives)
- Deliver high-quality civils work including kerbing, drainage, and hand-laying tarmac
- Organise plant, materials, and day-to-day site activities
- Carry out daily briefings and maintain accurate site records
- Ensure compliance with RAMS and safe working practices
- Read and interpret utility drawings and construction plans
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Civils Chargehand or similar role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Competent across a range of manual civils duties
- Ability to read drawings and use CAT & Genny equipment
- Confident problem-solver with a “can-do” attitude
- Comfortable dealing with the public on-site

- Valid CSCS Card
- NRSWA Operative
- Full UK Driving Licence (LGV desirable)
- Ability to securely park a 3.5t vehicle at home
Desirable
- SSSTS
- Experience operating small plant (dumpers, mini excavators, roller)
