Make a real impact with your accounting skills. We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation delivering vital care services.
If you’re technically strong, highly organised, and confident working independently, this role offers both flexibility and meaningful work.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and posting prepayments and accruals to support accurate monthly reporting
- Supporting and overseeing purchase and sales ledger activities
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Playing a key role in month-end and year-end processes
- Ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant with accounting standards
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Supporting audits and providing required documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant (or similar) role
- Strong understanding of prepayments, accruals, and ledger processes
- Experience supporting management accounts preparation
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage your workload effectively in a part-time role
- AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Experience within a care provider or healthcare setting
