Following the release of ARRS GP information and funding, we are looking for newly qualified (within 2 years and not having a substantive post), enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP(s) to join the Lea Surgery on a fixed-term salaried contract, preferably with an immediate start date. You will be working on one site and fully integrated into an excellent, high-performing primary care team. The Lea Surgery team focuses on maintaining a sustainable and enjoyable work environment. We have a strong training ethos delivering education to medical students. Main duties of the job Following the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations and e-consult, telephone triage/consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, other paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring them to other care providers as appropriate. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. About us The Practice 9 Consultation Rooms 4 GPs including 2 GP Partners 1 Practice Nurse 1 HCA 11,700 patients Training Practice EMIS WEB, ACCURX, EPS. Dedicated clinical admin team to support clinicians – excellent QOF/enhanced. CQC Good rating. Active role in local GP IPC and Primary Care Network. Job responsibilities The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance. Effective management of long-term conditions. Processing of administration on time, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload. Adhere to best practices recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required. Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process. Prepare and complete the revalidation process. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to: Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care. Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA). Person Specification Experience A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003. Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983. Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT). Currently on a PCT performers list and not suspended from that list or the medical register DBS clearance. Have had an annual NHS appraisal. Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields: MRCGP DCH DRCOG Evidence of CPD activities.
