Join us as an IT Test Engineer at our Portsmouth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an IT Test Engineer, you will join a team that is taking part in a novel programme building critical deployable IT infrastructure within the Defence environment.Day-to-day, you’ll be required to operate as part of a core test team within an enterprise scale development environment placing you at the heart of the modernisation of Defence’s deployable IT estate.Your responsibilities will include:Creating test scripts and undertaking test execution when required for critical systems under developmentUndertaking testing at different testing levels across multiple test cyclesDelivering outputs such as Technical documentation, trails plans and reports, test plans and developing test scripts working to both time and budgetExecuting test cases both manual/automation and analysing the resultsUndertaking formal and informal testing as directed by Test ManagersEssential experience of the IT Test Engineer:Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester/Live Service Tester or similar roleExperience in performing functional, non-functional and regression testing of MS Windows server products in complex environmentsThe ability to document test procedures, prepare test documentation including test plans, test scripts, evidence collection and defect reportingPrevious experience in manual, automation and test management tools – e.g HP Quality Centre, ALM, Jira and Test Rails etc.Proven experience in Black Box testing, white box testing, SIT, SAT, UAT and OAT testingBeing well versed with the Software Development Life Cycle testing conceptsEssential qualifications for the IT Test Engineer:ISTQB Certified TesterMCSA Microsoft Certified Server Associate or VMware Certified Practitioner (VCP)A Relevant Engineering/IT DegreeWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsdown Technology Park site.Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services.
